General Association Information

 

Gradings run in the following order

Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, 3rd Kyu Brown, 2nd Kyu Brown, 1st Kyu Brown, Black

Students must train a minimum of 3 years to be entitled Senior Dan Grade, but must be 16 years of age.

The Average Junior takes 5 Years to achieve Dan Grade, Average Senior 4 Years

 

Grades

 

Each Section is Marked out of 10.  1 being on the Lower level, 10 being the highest.

1 = Very Poor Standards

2 = Poor Standards

3 = Failed technique

4 = Pass

5 = Standard Pass

6 = Above Standard

7 = Exceptional Pass

8 - 10 = Black Belt Standards

 

Students aged 5 & 6 (Dojo Dragons)

Grades are set every 3 months.  Students are required to know their syllabus, and perform up to or above standard.

Students aged 5 & 6 have each belt split into 3 section.  Half Belt, Full Belt, and Full Belt tabs.  Each Belt takes 9 months to complete.

Students performing above standard will be graded at a higher level (See Junior Grades)

Junior Grades

Grades are set every 3 months.  Students are required to know their syllabus, and perform up to or above standard.

Students aged 7 and above have each Belt split into 2 sections.  Full Belt, and Full Belt tabs.  Each Belt takes 6 months to complete.

Students performing above standard will be graded at a higher level (See Senior Grades)

Senior Grades

Grades are set every 3 months.  Students are required to know their syllabus, and perform up to or above standard.

Students aged 14 and above take Full Belts every 3 months.  All Students take tabs thru 4th Kyu (Purple Belt)

Students performing above standard will be "skipped" grades.

 

3rd - 1st Kyu

Brown Belts can be distiguished by differences within the Belt.

3rd Kyu = Solid Brown Belt

2nd Kyu = Red stripe through Belt

1st Kyu = Black Strip through Belt
